Tech-Ed 2005 New Zealand

Today’s computing students are the future user and architects of future developments. Microsoft understood it long time back and came up with Academic Alliance programme. It gave my department and my students’ great opportunities to learn and apply the latest technologies from Microsoft. Some of us who were more in touch with open sources suddenly got insight of Microsoft and their process and business perspective. It definitely changes your feelings and outlook about certain company.

Microsoft New Zealand is a vibrant office with energised people. I first came in touch with Paul Lo – the Academic Advisor of MSDN AA at Microsoft New Zealand. His cooperation and support boosted our enthusiasm and energy to new level. My whole team suddenly felt rejuvenated. We not only started looking into teaching Microsoft products but wanted to be more vocal about Microsoft products and their support for education.

As we started designing our programmes around their products, we wanted to know more about the future and upcoming technology. This lead to attending Tech-Ed 2005 at Sky City couple of days back. The arrangements were organised superbly and me and my team members found our registrations within minutes and we headed for the keynote speaker session.
